FGC Equipment and Vertiv Power Systems recently were awarded the oversight of 11 Large UPS Systems to be installed into critical Silica Mining plant operations in the northern Plains States. The complicated installation will happen over a year’s time. Complicated power distribution challenges, along with minimal disturbance to operations are the primary focus for the FGC team to install all 11 systems into a running 7×24 production operation.

FGC Construction, as well as FGC Equipment Services, provided site design and turn-key installation services for the ultra-complicated installation of systems. “The key is minimizing disruption in the plant while doing some major rework to the electrical distribution system,” says Mike Rice Project Manager at FGC Construction. “Lead times on equipment and balancing the total installation over months are complicating factors for our team. These operations are critical, and things need to go seamless.”
